Lightweight motorized flat panel with infrared remote and micro-encoder (repeatability ±0.25°). Built-in dew heater, 255 brightness steps with no banding. Exclusive cable management and protective pads. Compatible with ASIAIR Plus, StellaVita, ASCOM/INDI. 12 V power, USB 2.0 Type-B. Not compatible with ZWO cameras’ built-in ASIAIR.
WandererCover V4-EC IR brings hands-free flat-field automation. The IR remote adds cable-light field control—only a single 12 V lead is required when a PC is not used. The integrated micro-encoder reports panel angle in real time with ±0.25° repeatability. A reinforced drive ensures reliable operation down to −25 °C. The 255-step dimmer doubles PWM frequency to eliminate banding, even for 0.1 s exposures. The embedded heater prevents dew overnight. Drivers are provided for ASCOM/INDI and control is supported via ASIAIR Plus or StellaVita. Recommendation: select a luminous diameter equal to or larger than your telescope’s dew-shield outer diameter. Not compatible with the built-in ASIAIR inside ZWO cameras.

Exclusive cable management and OTA-safe cushioning pads
In the box: WandererCover V4-EC IR, USB 2.0 cable (1 m), DC5521 male-to-male power cable (1 m), 4 nylon ties, IR remote
Notes: choose diameter ≥ dew-shield OD; not compatible with ZWO cameras’ built-in ASIAIR
The only difference between the V4-EC IR and V4-EC is the addition of infrared remote control functionality. This allows users to control the WandererCover via infrared remote, making it convenient for field or ASIAIR use. Only a single 12V power cable is required—no need to connect a USB cable if not controlling it using ASCOM, simplifying your field setup.

Exclusive cable management solution prevents damage to power cables during operation; Soft cushioning pads protect your telescope from scratches; Includes cable ties for universal installation

Built-in micro-encoder provides real-time, accurate feedback on cover position, allowing users to remotely check the angle status without opening the monitoring camera. Repeat positioning accuracy of up to ±0.25 degrees ensures precise open/close operations every time. Customizable opening/closing at any angle.

Features a brand-new motor with over 50% increased load capacity, ensuring durability and preventing gear box failure. Designed to withstand low temperatures, it operates reliably even in winter conditions as low as -20°C! After testing, the life of WandererCover V4-EC exceeds 3,000 opening and closing cycles.

Thanks to the encoder, V4-EC provides automatic detection of the open and closed position*. If your device is not around and manual setting is not possible, WandererCover can automatically detect obstacles and set the open and closed position.
*It is always recommended to set the open and closed angles manually! Use automatic detection as the last option only when the flat panel angle cannot be observed. It is normal for the motorbox to heat up during automatic detection. The angle detected is affected by many factors and success is not guaranteed. Do not try multiple times if unsuccessful.

The new ASCOM driver makes use easier. It also supports automatic or manual port selection and connection of up to 6 devices simultaneously.

The new dimming controller boosts PWM dimming frequency by 100%, effectively reducing the occurrence of banding and ensuring no banding during exposures of 0.1 seconds or longer. 255-level dimming meets the flat-field shooting needs, from color cameras to narrowband imaging. At maximum brightness, capturing 3nm narrowband only takes around 1 second!

Low temperature resistant design, able to work normally in environment as low as -25℃ (-13℉).

With the latest firmware, it supports control via ZWO ASIAIR Plus, ToupTek StellaVita, and any device capable of controlling the DC switch. Please refer to user manual to check it out!
