DESCRIPTION
The Celestron Polar Finderscope enables accurate polar alignment for the CGEM, Advanced VX, and CG-5 equatorial mounts. It fits into the dedicated rear finder port of the mount. The etched reticle displays star patterns including the Big Dipper, Cassiopeia, Polaris, and the North Celestial Pole for Northern Hemisphere alignment. For Southern Hemisphere use, Octans is marked. The eyepiece includes a focus adjustment to clearly view the reticle. To align, match the visible stars to their positions on the reticle, then adjust the mount’s azimuth and altitude controls to place Polaris precisely in the center crosshair. A practical tool to achieve improved tracking performance on compatible mounts.
