The 107PHQ is Askar’s first long focal length astrograph featuring an integrated flatfield optical system. It was designed to meet the needs of both beginners and experienced astrophotographers. It is easy to use, versatile and visually refined. It is particularly suitable for amateurs since it does not require an additional field flattener to achieve a flat and sharp image. With no corrector to install and no backfocus calculation required, simply attach your imaging accessories, focus on the target, and the entire optical system is immediately ready for imaging.

A versatile astrograph

The 107PHQ was developed to simplify field use as much as possible and adapt to a wide range of applications.

With an f/7 focal ratio and a four-lens design including two ED glass elements, it effectively reduces chromatic aberration and delivers excellent colour accuracy. In visual observation, it maintains good chromatic correction even at magnifications up to 300×.

Its integrated flatfield optical system greatly contributes to its imaging performance. It supports full-frame 44 mm imaging and shows very little star deformation at the edge of the field. At the centre, the RMS radius is only 3 micrometres, satisfying even the most demanding observers. The 107PHQ also provides effective control of field curvature and vignetting.

With its 749 mm focal length, it can reveal fine details on compact targets when paired with a high-resolution camera.

Also effective for visual use

The 107PHQ accepts 1.25″ and 2″ diagonals as well as a wide variety of eyepieces, and allows for precise focusing. With a very high magnification eyepiece, it can even be used for planetary observation.

Build quality

The 107PHQ features CNC-machined components with a smooth refined finish. Green decorative elements highlight its design. Its 3.4″ rigid focuser supports up to 8 kg and its 95 mm travel makes it suitable for both visual observation and astrophotography.
