The DayStar Quark Prominence is an all-in-one Hydrogen-Alpha solar filter that converts a standard refractor telescope into a high-performance solar instrument. It combines a solid-state Fabry-Perot etalon, a 4.2x telecentric lens optimized for the 656 nm wavelength, and a complete blocking filter system covering from X-ray to infrared.
The Prominence model provides a brighter image with a wider bandwidth, ideal for viewing solar prominences and limb details, while maintaining excellent image quality.
No additional adapters are required — the Quark fits directly into a 1.25" or 2" diagonal and features a brass compression ring to protect eyepieces.
The built-in tuning knob allows wavelength adjustment of ±0.5 Å with 0.1 Å detents, and a status LED indicates power, warming, and ready states. Powered by 5V USB at 1.5A, it can run all day on an optional portable battery.
Optimized for f/4 to f/8 refractors, the Quark enables full-disk solar viewing on focal lengths up to 450 mm and includes a protective twist-lock storage case.
