AZ 2000 HPS Combi mount with V3 control box and absolute encoders. Single-optic setup with short counterweight bar, 50 kg payload. Rugged carton with foam included. Counterweights and power supply not included.
Description
The AZ 2000 HPS Combi is the latest version of the AZ2000 series, based on the GM2000 mechanics in altazimuthal configuration. It is a highly versatile mount for research applications such as satellite tracking, photometric and astrometric measurements, LiDaR laser operations and more. As an alt-az mount, long-exposure astrophotography requires an optional ASCOM-compatible field de-rotator.
The standard version allows for one instrument on one side and comes with a short counterweight bar. Exact balancing is not required: 50 % of the payload weight in counterweights is sufficient for stability. The AZ2000 HPS C body can be split in two parts for easier transport.
Electronics are housed in the V3 control box, which is removable. Motor, encoder and hand pad connections include locking screws. The hand pad allows full standalone operation without a PC. Its graphic display and red backlit keys are glove-compatible and remain readable in all conditions, thanks to a built-in heater.
Key features of the V3 control box:
• Advanced ARM-based mainboard for high performance
• Industrial-grade Binder connectors (Germany)
• Dedicated port for external Wi-Fi antenna
• New RJ ports for LAN, GPS, and autoguider
• GPS module via PS2 with PPS signal for ultra-precise sync
• New two-pin Binder connector for 24 V power (cable included)
• AUX port (6-pin DIN EN 61076-2-106)
The original AZ2000 was also produced in a special "Antarctica" version rated to −84 °C, using expensive materials, special lubricants, wiring, connectors and a sealed enclosure for operation under extreme conditions.
